Episode 2, Scene 5 – Xinenis Festival (Tairy Village)
(The festival is in full swing, and everyone is celebrating. Villagers dance, eat, and talk. Some of the young men comment on how beautiful Alison looks in her dress.)
Man 1 } “Alison sure looks beautiful this Xinenis, doesn’t she?”
Man 2 } “Yeah. But I’m too shy to ask her to dance!” (blushes)
Man 3 } “You probably shouldn’t. She looks…preoccupied.”
(Alison is, however; she scans the crowd, searching for Gren.)
Alison } (sighs) “Gren, where are you?”
(As she wonders, Linae and Wimas walk over.)
Linae } “Hey Alison! Great dress!”
Alison } “Thanks, Linae.”
Wimas } “All right, so why aren’t you dancing in it?” (crosses arms)
Alison } (stares straight ahead into the crowd) “I’ll only dance with Gren.”
(Linae and Wimas look at each other.)
Wimas } (turns back to Alison) “Alison….”
Linae } “He probably doesn’t care about you enough to come.”
(Alison is shocked that her friends would say this and begins to doubt them. She wanders away from them and gets lost in the crowd. The swirling and the music overwhelm her.)
Alison } (dizzy, calls out tiredly) “Gren….”
(Suddenly, a hooded woman bumps into her, and everything freezes.)
Woman } (whispers into Alison’s ear) “They say…that boy is a god….”
(Suddenly again, the festival resumes, and everything is back to normal!)
Alison } “Huh?”
(Alison whirls around, searching for the woman, but she is nowhere to be seen. She stands in complete confusion and shock.)
